Guided school tours

*We are now taking reservations for Spring and Summer 2012 tours. Fall reservations will begin July 1, 2012.

Docent guided school tours allow students to make meaningful connections with art by careful observation and interactive experiences such as discussions, sketching, writing, and hands-on activities with objects. All school tours support the current Hawaii Content and Performances Standards (HCPS III) in fine arts and a variety of core subjects.

Themed tours are grade level specific and provide a cross-cultural experience in several galleries.

Cultural specific tours may be adapted to any grade level to extend classroom studies on one specific culture.

Tour plus a studio art class combines a guided museum tour with an art-making project. Teachers may choose a half-day program at the Beretania museum campus and Art Center or an hour and a half program at The Contemporary Museum Campus.

Tour plus two classroom visits sends an Ambassador to your classroom before and after your guided museum tour. Tour and classroom visits are each one hour long.
