Hawaiian Modern:
The Architecture of Vladimir Ossipoff
Hawaiian Modern: The Architecture of Vladimir Ossipoff, organized by the Honolulu Academy of Arts, is the first major museum survey of the work and impact of Hawai‘i's most important modern architect. Vladimir Ossipoff (1907-1998) practiced at a time of unbridled growth and social change in Hawai‘i. He developed a distinctive form of architecture appropriate to the lush topography, light, and microclimates of the islands.
The accompanying exhibition catalogue, Hawaiian Modern, was co-published by Yale University Press and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
