Filipino Film Festival 2017

June 9-17, 2017

See films that celebrate the Philippines’ distinct cinematic language, which embraces slapstick comedy, high art, and conscious melodrama. Experience stories unafraid to address political and social issues of our time.

Highlights include Across the Crescent Moon, a romance featuring the Philippines’ often overlooked Muslim community, Lav Diaz’s ambitious eight-hour ode to the Philippine Revolution, and the anticipated sequel to the hit comedy Ang Babae sa Septic Tank (The Woman and the Septic Tank).

Supporting sponsor: Consuelo Foundation

Special thanks to the Filipino Film Festival Committee: Rickie Camara, Rose Churma, Pepi Nieva, Rhoda Yabes-Alvarez, Apolonia Stice, Tracy Larrua, Natalie Aczon, Patrick Parsons, Gabe Torno, and Ethel Ward.

Opening-night reception: June 9, 6-7:30pm. Enjoy food by the museum’s café and music and live entertainment; wine, beer, and soda are available for purchase. Across the Crescent Moon screens at 7:30pm. Tickets: $35 | $30 museum members.
